Hoy stripped of Olympic Golds

3 time Olympic gold medal winner Chris Hoy (from edinburgh) has today been stripped of his 3 gold medals.

Olympic officials looked into his amazing achievement and questioned him on his training regime. Chris admitted that when he's back home he ties a half dozen sausages to the back of his bike and lets the neighbourhood rottweilers chase him along the street, it makes him peddle faster.

Upon hearing this revelation, Chris was immediately stripped of all 3 medals.

I'm looking for an additional team member, to enter the 10 more in Moray, 10 Hour mountain bike event in Fochabers on Saturday 23 August.

You will be riding in a team of 3. Trying to obtain the most laps you can in a 10 Hour period.

I know most of the members here are 'roadies' ! But if you fancy a bit of a different challenge - please let me know.

You don't need a race licence, just a mountain bike and a half-decent pair of lungs !

Great end to the Tuesday League last night. Good to see the numbers building up over the weeks. And for the first time since I've been riding it (6 years?) not one evening was cancelled due to rain!

Just to reiterate my thanks of last night to everyone who helps - Mary and Peter, Mary Bell, George, Alan and Nigel and Jackie who missed hearing the thanks as they were already on duty round at the bridge. We do all appreciate the time you give.

Twas mentioned at last club meeting about clothing. Whilst there was a bag of kit available for sale - none appeared to be of a size starting with at least one X - and its a while since I was L or M

Also mentioned about collecting names of those interested to make up a minimum order - anybody else interested in this

I'd probably be after at least a s/s and L/s jersey and possibly bibshorts if decent quality available

Un-expectantly hitting a pot hole at an extremely high speed while going down a hill.

I was partially out of the saddle when it happened and at the point of impact, the seat went up into my groin area really hard. One of the best competitive cyclists in Britain and he is a Forres CC member. Congratulations go to Peter Ettles Snr who has successfully defended his British Masters Pursuit Title for the 3rd time, his Scratch Race title for the 2nd time and got a Silver in the 750 Time Trial. As if all of this were not enough, Peter was 4th in the Points race after lapping the field with 5 other riders.

What a performance: Races entered - 4, Results: 2 Gold, 1 Silver and 1 4th place!!!

We are having a club barbeque at Roseisle carpark on Friday 20th June, 6.30pm.

Everyone associated with the club is welcome. Just bring some food to cook on the BBQ and some drinks. We will provide the charcoal, rolls, sauce, salad etc. for which there will be a charge of �1 per head.

Last month we had 433 unique visitors to the Forres CC Website.

And we had over 4300 'hits' which is the number of pages that were viewed by all the visitors (Including the forum).

The forum has had over 80 messges and responses to date and we have 22 Forres CC forum members.

Most of the website visitors come from the UK (49%), USA (27%), Rest of Europe (13%), the other 11% is made up with visitors from Australia, Japan & China of all ...

Forres CC wecomes Ladies Biathlon Team

Today we were pleased to meet and ride with three ladies from the Army Ladies Biathlon Team who are living at Kinloss for 6 months and who will be joining Club Runs when their schedule allows.

One of the ladies, Sarah, is riding a borrowed bike that is old, heavy and the wrong size for her. Is there anyone out there who has a 52 cm bike they could lend to her for a time, or perhaps sell her for a modest sum?

Weekend Club runs

Club runs normally leave the Cumming Street Club rooms at 09:30 Saturday and Sunday (subject to weather). There are a wide range of abilities and ages in the club and some riders leave at different times. Peter Robertson and Alan White are not currently fit enough to manage normal club runs and so are leaving at 10:00, just the two of us, until we feel fit enough to keep up with the young bucks without slowing them down! Graeme Laughton has returned to the fold and I am sure we all look forward to seeing him put his podigious talent to good use in the near future. Welcome back Graeme, you should never have left.

Murray Grant, ex-Elgin CC is now a Forres member and has already raced once this last weekend in his first race for some years, in the Bill Stuart 10. Keep up the training Murray.

A great local mountainbike event at Ordiequish Woods in Fochabers - A 10 hour endurance race, over a 10 mile circuit, all of which is rideable. To be held on August 22, 2008.

Participants can compete as a solo or in relay teams of two, three or four. The race is an endurance format with teams and individuals competing to see who can complete the most laps in the 10 hours.

If anyone from the club is interested, please let me know - then I won't have to do it solo...!
